Instant Messaging

The Wireless ZT IMPS enables the introduction of Mobile Instant Messaging as an attractive messaging supplement to existing communication services.

The Wireless ZT IM Server supports both mobile phones and Wireless ZT PC desktop clients. An IM message may contain characters and attached files, and it is up to the client to present the picture, sound, or movie files attached to the message.

Instant Messaging allows communication across different clients. If supported by the operator, the end user can send and receive messages from different clients according to their current preferences. Messages can also be sent to private and public groups or chat rooms.

For operators that want to benefit from existing Internet communities, Wireless ZT IMPS offers interfaces Jabber and Google Talk.

Subject to agreements with the service providers, the mobile operators can offer their customers the use of IMPS clients towards their IM service providers, and can introduce an event-based billing model for such usage.

The Wireless ZT IMPS offers the operator full flexibility for defining the IM concept (including billing models and clients to be offered).
